Dr. Mariya Petrova

Dr. Mariya Petrova is the founder of MiP Consultancy, where she helps brands and research teams better understand the microbiome and develop next-generation probiotics. An internationally recognized expert, her work focuses on the urogenital microbiota and the Lactobacillus species that support vaginal health. Mariya earned her PhD from KU Leuven and the University of Antwerp, studying how beneficial bacteria protect the vaginal environment and how they can be improved through bioengineering. She’s passionate about turning complex science into practical solutions that help women feel healthier and more confident.
