Probiotic for Lactic Acid in BV Treatment

We chose Lactospore®️ for two reasons: first, Sabinsa, the company behind Lactospore, has a proven track record of manufacturing world-class, quality products with extensive scientific research to back up their claims. Second, Lactospore®️ is a US FDA GRAS affirmed, clinically-validate,d, shelf stable Bacillus Coagulans that has been proven to produce lactic acid, the key defense mechanism against harmful bacteria in the vaginal flora.

Probiotic for Lactic Acid in BV Treatment

Bacillus Coagulans, the bacteria in LactoSpore®️, produces only L (+) Lactic acid and Bacteriocins (antimicrobial proteinaceous compounds) that are inhibitory towards both Gram (+) and Gram (-)bacteria, Whereas other probiotics may produce D (-) Lactic acid only.

It's also great because it has the feature of being bi-phasic. This means that when pH is ideal it can roam freely making the natural defenses we need; when pH is not ideal, it can fold into itself in order to shield itself indefinitely.

The Role of Bacillus Coagulans Probiotics

Probiotics are living microorganisms that are present in and on your body,  mouth, organs and your vagina. They create a net benefit to their host (you) by creating an ideal environment and introducing beneficial functions including protection against BV, nutrient absorption, healing the digestive issues, and competing with and displacing pathogens.

Various strains of bacteria are used as probiotics, and the most common are lactobacillus, bifidobacterium and yeast saccharomyces boulardii. There are over 400 different bacterial species that promote healthy abating the growth of harmful bacterial colonies using lactic acid as a natural defense.

Bacillus Coagulans, once known as lactobacillus sporogenes, are the largest group of probiotics that produces lactic acid. However, this probiotic is unique in that it is spore-forming during its reproductive life-cycle. this ability allows B. coagulans to go dormant during harsh conditions, where other probiotics might be killed off, allowing it to be an extended defense against high levels of pH.

Bacillus Coagulans Benefits

  • Non-specific Vaginitis Relief

Lactospore® is a Patented Bacillus Coagulans strain that has been shown to produce Lactic Acid. However, unlike lactobacillus, it has also been shown to produce Bacteriocins, a peptidic toxin (something good) that has shown to inhibit the growth of similar or closely related bacterial strains, making it great for non-specific vaginitis relief. We say non-specific as it can help many vaginal issues including BV, Yeast and UTI’s.

How BV Occurs

In view of the pressures of modern society, stress, change in our diets, extensive travel, exposure to environmental pollutants and unexpected weather changes, and more, harmful bacteria may become predominant (a condition referred to as bacterial overgrowth) and create an imbalance, which may, in turn, impair normal microbe function and lead to various health problems.

Hence, a logical approach to restoring the balance of the microbiome would be the use of naturally occurring microorganisms. A superior and potential species among Lactobacillus is B. coagulans.

  1. This species of probiotics form spores, which on activation in the acidic environment of the stomach, can germinate and proliferate in the intestine, produce the favored L(+) form of lactic acid and effectively prevent the growth of pathogens.
  2. Bacillus Coagulans also produces a by-product unique to its species known as bacteriocins, which work like natural antibiotics that fight off pathogens, bad bacteria, by inhibiting them from producing their toxins.

How Bacillus Coagulans Probiotics Work

Lactospore®️ works by stimulating the growth of other healthy bacteria in the body by creating an optimal environment for growth. It is through the probiotic's ability to turn glucose found in the epithelium into lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide that this is achieved.
